Whatever you do, don't go for CHEAP. Your life depends on the reliability of your ladder every time you climb it. My advice would be a proper 'tree bottom point' double window cleaners ladder from Midland Ladders, followed by a bit of training from someone who actually knows how to use these ladders. In the right hands they are by far the safest ladders for this job.
Don't expect the H&S to advise you about them, according to H&S these ladders don't exist

Hi
Have you considered these?
http://www.midlandladders.com/catalog/Extending_A_Ladders-49-1.html
Much more versatile than a conventional ladder and they are very stable with 3 point location - like a tripod won't rock on uneven ground and great on inclines.

iv 4 sets of LYTE trade ladders, two are 3 metre doubles and the others are triples
these really are good ladders, not too heavy either. be careful you dont buy heavy ladders,if too heavy they will make you hate the job

Do you realy need ladders? Is a wagtail on a pole out of the question?
Jut a thought.
