I suspect the Olympics have not helped much.  That being said I have quite a good month and can't complain, but so far I only have two jobs next week.  Usually I go quite in September as the last two years I have gone on holiday in the last two weeks of August and taken my eye of marketing and have come home to very little work, this year we had an early holiday and I am concentrating on marketing for Sept - Xmas.

This is the first time in 12 years that I can say this 'school holiday period' has been our busiest.
Having said that there are times when others on here are flat out and I can't pay people to ring us.
We all get busy/quiet times which vary across the country for some reason.

Yep lots of commercial here and schools.
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

Have lost an agency, that I was doing about 1.5k a month for up until the start of the year, did e mail to say wtf is going on,but they never got back to me,until last week when they wanted something doing there and then..
I had my suspicions when they employed a new member of staff, who had been working at another agency, turned out she used someone who was a third cheaper than me.
So much for loyalty, had worked for them for 8 years and never had a problem with any of my work, they normally kept me ticking over in quiet times...

Unfortunately Mark, Rental Agency`s show no loyalty whatsoever.
I hardly do any now - only when theyve got an absolute minger or the owners want their carpets cleaning properly!
I have to say, I have been extremely busy over the last couple of months, but I have been going for a long time now!you will find, the longer you are in business, the busier you will get. Try and get in with some carpet shops - really good reccommendations!!

Yeah I am surviving, been ticking over ok really, another big agency in Cambridge called me back a week or so ago, for what I explained to them on the phone was pile reversal, they were adamant that it was a water mark, explained pile reversal to them, also stated that I cleaned the property 2 years ago, prior to them being in charge of it and it had the same problem then !! But they insisted I go and look.
Waste of my time, landed them with a £65 call out fee and a big long lecture in an e mail about pile reversal, so don't suppose I will be doing any more for them either, bunch of skanks anyway.
Supposedly one of the biggest agencies in Cambridge, just a bunch of con artists
