Hi I've done quite a few Victorian floor tiles, but I've often found it hard getting old sealers up.

Should the stripper be doing more of the work rather than me with the rotary.

My question is, is it because I've used a low odour stripper? Or is it always hard getting it up.

What kind of strippers are we talking about

It's possible you are coming up against varnish rather than floor polish on some of these.

Victorian tiles are massively porous also so if you don't wet out the flor before applying the stripper it won't be as effective.

Honing powder can make a huge difference on this type of work as they stay on the surface and remove the finish mechanically rather than chemically. When combined with a good stripper it will increase removal considerably.
