WC setup in Pug 206
« on: July 14, 2012, 04:03:50 pm »
Hey Guys,

Im currently changing vans, but due to HPi and excessive insurances i need to sell my van and use my car to clean windows whilst i get the next van!

I've got a Pug 206 (car) 2.0 HDi ! How ever unsure what the maximum weight you can carry in the car is ! Im looking at getting a 125litre flat tank in the bank between the rear wheels !

Any help on weights would be great !

Cheers
Matt

you need to find the kerb weight and gross vehicle weight and take one from other to calculate the payload.

however at 125 litres I think u will be ok

There should be a sticker inside the door frame it will tell you the weights on there if not it will be in your user manual .

It will fit, weight should be okay, but really, how are you safely going to restrain it?

125L in the back - I wouldn't give it a second thought - it's the weight of one large geezer or two small women.

No worries on weight limit. The real prob is that you will only get two or three hours work from it. Carry a couple of 25L in the front footwell/on the front seat and you might stretch to half a day if you are careful.
It's a game of three halves!

Agree with above with regard to weights and carrying 125 litres of water. That's a couple of adults in the back.

However, I doubt that your handbook or door pillar will give you a payload for your car as someone else has advised.

During the time I worked for Citroen, all payloads for vans were freely available, but not for the Berlingo Multispace. I had to contact the factory's technical dept for that info.

The Citroen Berlingo van in those days was 600 or 800 kgs but the Multispace was about 450kgs (drivers weight and full tank of fuel considered.) The suspension was 'softer' so it gave a more comfortable ride, hence the lower carrying capacity.

Is see that the Peugeot 206 panel van has a payload of 526 kgs which I am very surprised about (driver and fuel weight will reduce that), but the car won't be as much as that.
