Just had a call from a couple who used one yesterday, they say their carpets still wet and smell of dog, want me to re do them, asked how many litres they used 90 !! I use less than that doing an entire 4 bed house !! Think I may be needing my blower tomorrow

Watch yourself here.

I had a similar situation where someone had done their own carpets.

They were touch dry but the place smelled quite strongly.

When I used a moisture detector, I found the underlay was absolutely sodden. He confessed he had "cleaned" the carpets at least three times a week, for a few weeks, as the dog was having a lot of "accidents").

Don't forget -- it is their problem at the moment.

If you mess with it and cannot cure it, it becomes your problem.

There is no point in taking on an incurable problem.

Maybe they will claim on the insurance if the underlay is damaged mate.

Thought they gave away a short dvd telling you how to use it

Be afraid mark if you find the r d at the end of your bed in the middle of the night ..Moving haha

I would think the insurance would put it down to negligence on their part and refuse to pay- I would.

Sounds like its a restoration job now, uplift carpet, remove underlay install air movers etc.

But remember Rug Doctor will never accept liability so you might have one peeved off customer to deal with.

Yes cheers for the input, will make sure I fully cover my back, I did make it quite clear to them that the underlay may be soaked and also the floor beneath it, with the amount of liquid he put down it wouldn't surprise me
Just find it astounding that someone would put that much down for a small lounge and hallway, he must have been paddling in it

have done loads of dries after rug doctor and have some very loyal customers due to it. This is a lesson that somebody will not forget.

Yes and hopefully he will spread the word on how rubbish they are, either that or he will keep tight lipped due to being so  embarrassed .
Just hope they didn't leave the furniture in the room, or there will be some nice stains into the bargain
