Yet another 'which pole' thread (help please)
« on: July 03, 2012, 07:41:36 pm »
Hey all - some advice needed please

I currently use a CLX18 for everyday use.  But on bigger jobs I have an old and very tired green XTEL27 (which is about 3 foot shorter cause it split a while back and I had to cut off the offending piece); this is now in dire need of a replacement.  I also have a monster of a Brodex 36 Ally pole which I have to use on a few 3 storey houses where the top floor is set back behind the bay windows.

Now my question is should I go for the CLX27- which will do me for 97% of my bigger domestic work- but still won't get the biggest 3 storey jobs mentioned above; or should I jump in and get the SLX35 and use that for everything above what can't be reached by my trusty CLX18.  The SLX35 is only 250g heavier than the CLX27; however, I am also looking at prices of £227.00 against £497.00 (this may also increase if I need to add a carbon gooseneck) which is a real stretch for me on the cash front.

I only use the Brodex on approximately 8 houses per month but it's really killing me every time I have to pull the thing out to use - it really is a **** of a pole to use and weighs a ton.

All advice welcome please

Thanks in advance

Tom

If that was me I would go for the SLX35. Trust me, the extra expense is worth it a million times over! ;)
