Well, it's been another difficult month weather-wise. In common with just about everyone else i've lost many days to rain - today cut short because it was torrential. Every other month is busy for me since I broke my thumb last year and had to have 7 weeks off (due to the rejig when I went back to work) and June was a quiet month; next month is mega, so i hope that the weather picks up.

At the end of this month there are only 2 cleans totaling £23 outstanding, 4-weeklies last done 2 June and now being done on Monday, so all is good there.

Not so good is the money outstanding - £818, the most ever - usually it's £300-ish. I have good reserves so am OK and it should come in over the next couple of weeks.

Anyway - lets hope July is better weather!

We've been too busy really.

We've been doing a huge cladding clean since 25th May on overtime and on wet days where standard window cleaning may have been difficult. Still got about 15% left to do. Should be complete by next weekend. Got paid for the whole job last week though!

Also two conny and two gutter/soffit cleans too. And a four storey Georgian windowed house from scaffold as well.

So the best month ever financially but a bit tiring. All profit eaten up with overtime, my SLX extreme purchase (it is awesome, words cannot describe how light and rigid it is) and putting my little van on the road as a back up system. Don't mind investing in the business though.

Looking forward to a "normal" month from about 8th July.

If I've done it right this should be a picture of the longest side of the building. We've started about 5 metres in from the right and are working around the whole thing. Being Avonmouth, some of the muck is engrained (like above those vents) but the custy is well chuffed and has supplied all the detergent/tfr, about 200 litres in all.

It's a car preparation plant near Avonmouth/Portbury Docks where cars from Japan and Italy are brought to the UK and prepared for shipping to dealers.

I won't put the exact price up but you are talking low end of the thousands.

The extreme is a 47 with two extensions to 60ft.

I use it as 35 generally and add as and when.

Better than an SLX?  At 35ft plus, much lighter. On the 20ft bread and butter domestic stuff I prefer an SLX because the weight difference is less noticeable and you have the choice of exact length you use where an extreme has sections which can only be fully, half extended or when used as a 47, third extended only.

all my work is up to date despite the weather.even squeezed a few add on jobs(conny roof/fascia cleans)in.

the trick is not to be full to the brim with work so you can catch up sometime during the month working the odd saturday or sunday if need be.

WFP has made a massive difference in regards to work being completed day to day and also im more likely to crack on in the rain when a few years ago id be heading off home earlier or not bothering at all!!

i actually got more money in than i earned this month but i still have a fair bit of debt outstanding!

carl do you go collecting for some work?i wouldnt be happy with that amount outstanding at the end of the month.

I never collect - 90% of my round is beyond 10 miles from where I live as I am very rural; some is over 20 miles away. I give SAE's and it works well. The reason this months debtor list is so high is that the bad weather has knocked cleans on to the end of the month, with some big days in there; If people are out at work it builds up quickly. Usually it's £300-ish. I should get quite a lot in over the next week or so, especially seeing as people will have just been paid on Friday.
