winter working as a window cleaner

Do all you guys work during the winter? as with wfp does the water not freeze to the glass?

also we have had a crap summer so far and im worried the winter will be a complete headache, wondering what you guys do?

I was thinking about carpet cleaning as well to support the window cleaning.

Based on other Winters, providing it doesn't go down to -10c and factoring in how rubbish this Summer has been, I really can't  a see a problem......

Past couple of Winters have been pretty tough going with things freezing up.

I've been in this business for more than 45 years.  In all that time I've never lost any working time worth worrying about, except in the winter of 1986-87 when I had a fortnight off as there was three feet of snow over everything!

If you're going to start worrying about what next winter is going to be like, I think you may be in the wrong job ;D

the great thing about the winter is everyone has their heating on full blast which keeps the windows warm enough to not freeze on contact. if they are triple glazed your in bother lol. i lost 4 days last year. i wouldn't worry (i asked the same question when i started, got the same responses too)

even double glazing stops the heat from getting to the outside windows.  if it freezes it freezes, just make sure you have a months money saved up just in case

Yes its frustrating when everything freezes. This will be our 9th winter out there, but 1st with WFP. I will jump that hurdle when I get to it.
