i had the weekend off but had a call yesturday afternoon about a job i did last week, were the landlord is not happy that the carpets don't look like they did when the tenant moved in, so we are having a meeting at the property to discuss the problem..... i know what the problem is, the landlord does'nt want to give the deposit back and he's using the carpets as an excuse.

First weekend off for ages so have my " must get those jobs I have been putting off for ages" head on.I'm off to B&Q to get some wood for van shelveing, then off to a party tonight, which will probably mean bad head tomorrow. And will eagerly await the confirmation email from TACCA  to say I am now a member. ;D

he was not shifting, the carpet were new when they moved in they should look new when they moved out, I tried to explain that he has to allow for normal wear & tear but he just don't get it.

he was deducting the cost of a new carpet, i felt sorry for the tenants. I was payed last week so it didn't make any difference to me but it was not right

Maybe the tenant should have floated around during there stay?

I thought a middle man made the desicion on a deduction being fair nowadays?

Working today, late night last night too, didn't get home until 10pm,gf's sons g/f had some numpty break into her house and cover everything with about 20l of white emulsion, sofa which was new, carpets rugs furniture clothes the works.
Gotta write up a report for the 5.0 so she can claim for everything back, as it was not coming out, and had nearly all dried by the time she found it.
Police caught the bloke, fingerprints on paint roller and was covered in paint when they got him  ;D

Watch out with the insurers, they might claim it's a white wash.
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.
