Evening my fellow window cleaners!  Just curious as to how long it took all you windy's with over 200 clients to reach that mark?   Fire away  :)

I am on about 150 and maxed out. I have only targeted large houses in expensive areas though and tried to use the clients I have to get other big houses. Take 3 years and I have only leafleted 3-4 days in  total but use clients to get recomendations. Not the norm but it has worked for me.

Five months for me, all but about ten from leaflets.

While I'm looking: now, 25 months later, I have cleaned at least once at 976 custopmers.  A bundle of those have been one-offs, drifted away, died, been dropped, etc, but left with more than enough - so, in summary, I've gained 40 new customers every month since starting.  The difference is that at the moment we've no advertising or leaflets going out but there's no let-up in the calls coming in.

All most the same as will, I don't really do £10  jobs, I aim for the posh areas
I've got just under 190!customers but I have 4 days a month empty,
As I have had a clear out of me £10 messer jobs.
I have days left aside for gutters/ connys/ facia jobs every month as these are great
Earners for me,

Oh and I'm 1 yr on me own

Colin good on yer!
What you going to do if u want to get bigger? Are you going to employ or just stay as you are and have a nice well paying round with little or no messers.
I am at that point now..

Not to sure will! I don't want to take over the world! ( just yet)

I'm sure I'll need a hand a few days a week in about 6 months and see how it goes
From there, if it's start to be a pain in the arse I'll have a re think,
I'm not in it to get stressed or have no time with me family.

As it say below " keep it simple"  :D

Your right! The only thing is sometimes you get caught up in it and want more or go to the next step.

I started up here in Ireland on 8th August 2011 and picked up my 200th customer on around 20th February. Almost all were picked by good old fashioned door knocking. I used leaflets as well, and may have got one or two through them, but that's all.

I currently have 260, although around 90 of these have been one offs, so the true figure at the moment is probably nearer to 170 if looking at regular customers. I will be looking for at least another 20 new customers by 31st July, before reviewing my target for the next year.

To the OP, how are you doing customer wise?

I started back in Feb and now have about 220 custys, mostly off door knocking and about 25 off leaflets.

Took 3 months to hit 200 customers, settled to around 250, peaked
At 310. Work 9-3 struggle to keep up sometimes .
Nice easy life compared to the Print...
Plan was to employ one person to do windows for me, and take
About £1k a month for me but can't seem to find right person.
Have had 4 people so far and none have lasted more than two days.
Apparently "I'm an arsehole!" according to last one.
Wouldn't let them sit and read paper while I showed them the
Job

Takes about 2 months if out everyday canvassing to get 300 customers but out of them you will lose 100 odd from experience. But 200 regular customers for a few months of hard work isn't to be sniffed at.

I have been going for 3 years and not got 200 yet. I could have had more, but weed out the messers so its taken me longer. But I have a good paying round of fine people.I think this is a " how long is a piece of string question" THERE ARE TO MANY FACTORS AT PLAY!.How saturate is your area with windies. Is there disposable cash in your area. What are your average pricing in your area. Are you prepared to tolerate messers in you area.It all depends how you aim marketing.   ??? ???
