  i posted that this would happen a couple of years ago, large office cleaning companies work for a very small profit margin but because window cleaning used to be mainly ladder work they left this sector untouched or subbed the work out the reason was it was very hard to get competant ladder users to carry out the work anddifficult for someone without hands on knowledge to manage a large team, but now with water fed poles it is easy to train someone pay just above minimum wage and make a large profit margin i think pretty soonthese companies will target domestic customers aswell as commercial

I spoke to the office cleaning company in the article doing that just now. It sounds bad and scary but its not really. Just tweaking your business, think out the box ( what makes you different) is all thats needed. If you lucky, there will be no change to your business

Competition is good it is the ones that think they don't need to adapt will be the ones that will start to fail.

Keeping your eye on the ball (7pm tonight ) is the key, do these cleaning companies worry me, not at all, adding there services to ours some degree is happening already so swings and roundabouts.

It is getting a lot harder out there for sure but still picking up work, it is what you do that makes the difference, there are a lot of start up and there will also be alot of these failing due to it being harder to get custom.

Domestic window cleaning will NEVER become anything much more or above exactly what it is right now where wfp is concerned!

Would it resolve the issue? Would we all have to go on an impact training course?

It seems like a win/win to me for the whole industry. It'll be the perfect campaign Health and Safety issues resolved, no more working on the black economy, neighbourhood watch groups placated... which town council could refuse that?! (drive the fox vermin back down the A46 too  ).

Successful campaign and this time next year you could be MP for Leicester Forest East ... how do you like them apples!

just another rule for the dodgy ones to break. The benefits people can't get them, the tax man can't get them so what good would a licence do?
