Nope - George can only run in a windows enviroment.

Also, using Wine, you need some type of a compiler to compile the proper windows environment.

A dos emulator still won't solve the problem either because George cannot run just on dos.

I tried various ways to get George to run on redhat and ubuntu but................. :-[

How to make it work..........download the executable. It won;t let you run it initially. Go to the downloaded file, right click choose properties and make the file executable. The open it with your wine programme. This will install it, you should see it install and after that you can't find it. It 'may' install a shortcut on your desktop, if it doesn't the browse you wine virtual C drive, fine the george folder and in it you will find GEO3.exe this is what makes it run, just open that.Maybe make a shortcut to it to..........

Cheers for the above.

I don't know where I went wrong but I will give it a go again tomorrow.

It's one of those occasions where I'm more than happy to be wrong.
