i know i change my mind like the weather!always weighing up the pros and cons of various poles etc but i think selling my poles is the way forward!!

i think buying a 25ft extreme with 2 extensions(taking me up to 35 ft)is the future!!

then ill use the 25ft extreme for nearly all my work adding the other 2 sections when needed.

i think one pole like the extreme would be the best way to work.its the best part of a grand but i fully expect this pole to last me 4 years if i invest so £250 a year to use the lightest,most rigid pole on the market.

ill use it with an extreme brush,a fitted tap(no aqua-daptor)and carbon gooseneck with a few other brushes for swapping when needed(sill brush etc).

what do you think guys?

from what i read on here the other day you can only full or half way extend the pole but i may be wrong alex will be along soon  

i was going to do the same as you but if you can only fully or half extend the pole i think i will be better off with a

slx 18 and slx 35

I think that if you buy an Extreme, you should keep your other pole(s) as back up.  A broken/unstuck clamp or a broken section if it falls over onto something could cost you a day or two in income until you put it right.  So much better to have another pole to turn to.  What you would get for the two second hand poles could be earned in a couple of days.  I bought a 63ft Extreme.  I was going to sell my SL2 modular.  I broke a section on the Extreme (should have stopped working at that height in the wind) and was grateful to still have the SL2 modular.
I rarely sell old poles.  I still have an 18ft Ionics multipole and a 24ft Omnipole power pole for an emergency (the power pole just for cladding cleaning though).

Ditto. Always good to have a spare pole. E.g a brand new clx22 will cost you less than losing a days work.

All of the Xtreme poles (apart from the small 18ft) can be clamped in three positions, closed, half-open and fully open. In reality this is all that you need and provides more than enough adjustment. It also speeds up work as the sections slide quicker and you have less decisions to make about where to clamp the pole sections.

I'd say keep at least one pole as a spare, for the amount of money you could get from selling it, it's just worth keeping. You might want to consider using a sill brush on a carbon gooseneck as your main brush rather than the xtreme. The xtreme good but the sill gooseneck combo is ideal for domestic. As regards the half length opening, it actually makes it easier as you have less to think about. Most jobs you just open it in full lengths and work. The xtreme is all about speed.

All of the larger CL-X poles now feature the quick release gooseneck system only the 10ft and 14ft are still on the screw thread system although these will also be changing over in a few months time to the QR system.

If you were meaning about an Xtreme version of the CL-X then unfortunately this is just not possible. The Patented Xtreme pole structure only works because it is made of very hi-modulus carbon (much higher modulus that some other manufacturers advertise as hi-modulus!).

Dazmond - i did what you are thinking of doing.I sold my SLX18 and SLX30 and bought a 25 xtreme with one extension to cover both poles.Great pole for lightness and rigidity,but i have had some issues with the sections slipping while in use.IMO you will struggle to get 4 years out of it,but i might be wrong

daz, i think you need find a hobby or sumat else spend your extra cash on ,why do you want spend  a grand on a pole when your very very very happy with your slx

jackal ive spent over a grand on an electronic drum kit and amp and im buying a seperate car in a couple of weeks to use for leisure purposes(got around £2500-£3000) so plenty of hobbies to spend my hard earned on!

ill probably just get the extra sections to take me up to 35ft or buy a separate 35ft SLX for now but i will invest in an extreme in the future as i think itll be money well spent if it wears well as itll keep strain to a minimum.

using poles day in/day out is tiring for my arms sometimes and when i start gigging again with my drums i need to work with minimum strain!!

When you get your car, if you aren't already doing so, offset 100% of van use against tax, won't you?
Also, I'm sure you will use your car to go out and do quotations etc. at properties where you want to make a good impression, or when you go out leafletting and canvassing so maybe a small percentage of your car will also be used for business (as well as a small percentage of its capital value).
