adding sections to a 25ft SLX
« on: May 15, 2012, 06:00:46 pm »
for those guys that add sections to their SLX poles when needed do you use the pole hose on the outside while the extra sections are on?

do you use extra pole hose or does the pole hose/microbore fit inside the extra sections for those that use internal pole hose?

and do you have the extra base caps for the extra sections?

im sure my base cap on my original 25ft SLX is glued on so i would have to cut this off and replace with another one and not glue it on so i can remove it when needed.

can anyone give me the quickest and easiest way of adding sections without faffing around too much?

im thinking of buying the 30ft and 35ft extra sections to fit on when needed while im saving up for my extreme!! ;) ;D ;D ;D

thanks in advance guys

Hi dazz
Im pretty sure you just take the end cap off ,try sticking sumthing down sides should come of ok.when you have it loose then you can just buy the extra end caps and add them when you need.
To much faffing for me though thats why i have a 25 and a 35  ;D

Remove end cap, add extra section on, done. ;) No need to even take the pole hose off if you have a slim connector.

It's up to you what you do about the hose length.

You will need to remove the end cap from the pole first - if this is glued on you can cut it off and replace with a  new one as they are very cheap.

Using the quick release gooseneck system does allow you to switch between hose packs if needed. Personally I would make up another hose pack along with an extra 10ft of pole hose. Then all you need to do when adding sections is to drop the hose out of the pole, slide off the end cap, slide on the new sections and slide up the pole the longer hose pack. Should take about 1 minute maximum.

hi winpro i use rectus 21 connectors and im just wondering whether the connector will fit up the inside of the 30/35ft extra sections as my pole hose wont be long enough once the poles extended. ;) ;D ;D

What I used to do with a 44ft facelift a few years ago was split the hose with a JG pushfit connector (same as what Gardiners use), then have a spare, short tail end to add back on. This way you can just shorten or lengthen the hose in seconds. ;)

They should fit up the hole in the base of the end-cap as long as you do not have a Protecta-Ball fitted.

do you still supply them annoying balls on the hose Alex ? really cant see the point in them after all this time. If you do would I like to know the point as I just don't get it honestly I don't after all this time, it is same as purefreedom's black disk to protect the tap on hose (they just dont work and hinder speed IMO)

They should fit up the hole in the base of the end-cap as long as you do not have a Protecta-Ball fitted.

Diaz, the rectus 21 along with the microbore will fit up the inside of the pole, this is how I work, my microbore is my pole hose, saves tangles, and packing up pole hose.
