What would you do?
« on: April 25, 2012, 02:02:22 pm »
Clean two houses every 10 weeks a few miles away from me, so slightly out of my way, and i do most of my work every 5 weeks.

Recieved this note with the cheque. It reads 'We are doing some budget cutting - please could you come every four months instead of every 10 weeks? Thanks very much!

So what would you do?

Dear customer - no problem we are happy to clean you every 20 wks, however your current price is based on
a regular 10 wk service - for a 20 wk service the cost per visit will be  XXX  ( 50% on your current price )

best regards

your windy cleaner

The house is £18. I cant really be bothered with going out to do the other house if they decide to drop frequence. Other house is £20. There both quite well priced. But the travelling out for one or two makes the difference.

I am quite tempted to phone and explain how i dont do jobs out of my locallity on any less frequency than i do currently unless they are huge jobs. See what they say. so wouldn't be able to do the job every 4 months. Hardly worth a 4 month clean i think.

personally would not do this for same price, and really doubt id do it anyway at that frequency im same as you every 5 and 10 wks with a few on 6 wkly, had a custy last week wantng a quote and said dont mind if you can call every 3 months or even 6 months but not a chance put her on 10 wkly

i dont see the point of cleaning 3 times a year on normal stuff even if its well priced, they could move house months ago and you wouldnt even no.

i would dump em if their out of the way.they simply cant afford to have a window cleaner if their trying to get you to clean em 4 monthly!!

most of my smaller domestic are calendar monthly with a few 2 monthlies dotted about in between them.i have a church i clean every 6 months for £80 but its only half a mile from other work and it takes me less than 2 hours!!

monthly and 2 monthly for domestics.i simply wont take any longer frequency unless its a big job.most are happy with monthly or 2 monthly.i do have a few stand alones that i clean 6 weekly as they thought 2 monthly was too long in between cleans but as for 4 monthly.no!!no!no!!not for £18!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D
price higher/work harder!

If it's WFP then it'll be like a first time job after 4 months and be filthy! Mind you it'l be the same after 10 weeks I assume. I wouldn't bother.

Sounds like it might not be viable to continue on that basis.  Another alternative might be to offer to do both houses less frequently for an enhanced price - ensuring that you do both houses when you go there.
I have a situation where I have three houses in a row that only want three times a year in an out of the way location..  The difference being that between them, I get £160 and due to the time taken, it is a decent return..  I think of it as a mini round on its own.  So I would never rule out work just on frequency alone.
