« on: April 25, 2012, 12:02:27 pm »
Hi  Y'all ..
I just got all mi kit together, trolley ,back pack brushes. leaflets cards. All I need is a few custys and I'm away. Its 30 years since I last knocked a door so  Now I'm working on mi pitch for the canvassing I have to do.
Whats 1st thing out yer mouth when custy opens door? Is it "Hello do you  need a wc ?" or "Hello have you got a wc"?
Do you talk about the weather and price of fish or keep it short and straight to the point? if they say "yeah i got a windy" do you still card'em up ? or walk away? I will be okay when I done a few, although not looking forward to rejections.
Have learned a lot already from this forum theres some good lads on eer a few characters i would like to meet down the pub ! You know who you are..Ta   :o

Hello there im a window cleaner canvassing the local area and was wondering if you would be interested in a price.

yes please

no thankyou

i have a cleaner already. would you like a better price. if you can that is. wait for all the people saying shouldnt undercut. But at the end of the day will they pay your rent for you? its just work in my opinion and nothing personal go for it :)

Gonna stick my neck out here but I think you have to be very careful making price your best salesman.
Otherwise we will all be working for nothing it seems to me.

You're quite right, prices can only go down so far before it becomes pointless working.

I have no qualms in pinching work from another window cleaner providing I am asked for a quote and they accept the price I give them. I don't knowingly undercut someone else unless their price is stupidly high and I think I can work for a lower price without a problem.
Come and talk dirty to us!!!

I dont knock in general, but target particular properties that I choose to take on.

I dangle the money angle, its a bit like fishing, waiting for a bite, then reel them in with various strategies.  Not many get away  ;)
