why not just filter the water you make then pump pure in the van no need for di then, saves the weight

I am getting a system fitted, and am thinking of not bothering with DI vessels in the van, and just filtering the water straight into the tank. Does anyone else do this, just wondered if is was practical ?Thanks.
i dont get it how people only use di's whats the tds coming out of your taps mines 350 . 1 bag of resin to fill 1000 ltrs lol my ro 40 40 makes the water at 50ppm then bag of resin only lasts 4 weeks ..
