A wise poster on here (can't remember who) said that custies tolerate us as a necessary evil; another said that custies don't expect good social graces from a windy.

We can play both to our advantage - and if they want us to tolerate them they must tolerate us!

Or like Tosh suggests bore them with a long explanation or go on step further - tellum you're a buddhist or a jw and they'll soon hide and let you get on with it.  ;D Then you put a bill through and get paid on line!

BTW - I give them a written rain guarantee which I clip to their receipts when working in showery conditions.
It's a game of three halves!

I work in light rain, but anything heavier or if the rain is hitting the windows I stop until it's blown over.

Some of my customers don't mind me working in/around the rain, and others turn me away if there's a cloud in the sky!

If u have 12 jobs sheduled and get 2 not todays its raing u still earnt ... When quoting new customers tell em u work in rain as it don't effect quality and u need to keep to schedule as u have a massive round

i tell some of the moaning custys that i have to much work so have to work in light rain, think it makes a point to them that you wont take any sh it,

1 custard who is fussy seems to make a point that it always rains once iv been to clean her house,am i bothered,no,she can cancel if she wants but she knows the next windy would clean in the rain aswell, just crack on you will only get the odd one who would cancel anyway

i can honestly say we've never had a problem off customers not wanting us to clean in the rain.

we just confidently tell them we always clean in the rain, and the results will be the same as when its dry.  we do a rain guarantee also.  nobody's ever asked us to come back after rain.

we just say we clean whatever the weather and use it as a positive point of how reliable and professional we are.

like most things, its probably a problem in your mind.  if you can be confident when it s raining, and just clean as normal the customers will just go along with it

this post is the same as what we do.
Educate your customers and you will have no problems, the tricky part is the mindset.

Jackal.
Just say it's all part of your rain guarantee: I guarantee it will rain within 48 hours of cleaning your windows, if not then please pay double on your next clean.
