« on: April 21, 2012, 09:33:50 pm »
Just discovered the truvox cimex. I've seen online some of the results made from this bit of kit and read up a little on it and i have to say, WOW, wheres the catch?
Has anyone got one of these and back up for these results? And what is the process?

Used mine for the first time last weekend, Quoted to spot clean lots of marks in a large office and deep clean all reception and communal areas, Quoted for two full days.

Blasted through it with the cimex in a day, it removed nearly all marks from the carpet tiles and I ended up doing all the carpets instead of spot cleaning. Had to tm some areas but the marks were that bad I needed renovate on them.

Can't believe I managed so long without one lol

I used surround ultra from JK in mine, gave off a really nice smell

mines an older model and it took some fiddling about to get the water flow right so I went through loads of solution at first but cracked it soon enough.

Vacuum THOROUGHLY with a GOOD vacuum prior to encapping.

Before cleaning: With oil based stains, I use a spotter that will sort these out and is also ENCAP; COMPATIBLE, so it DOES NOT need to be rinsed out with water.

Make sure the encap; product is a good one and does not leave any sticky residue.

Set the handle at a good working height for your body.

Mix ONLY to the recommended solution rate.

Make two passes, one laying down solution, not to heavy, you just want to see a small whitish foam on the carpet.

I most times, "feather" the solution handle, (on-off), rather than holding it on all the time, practice gets this easier and better and it becomes second nature.

The second pass is slower, no solution.

Spots, etc; DO NOT add more juice, keep the Cimex on that spot to scrub it.

With encap; more is not always better, plus you risk over-wetting the carpet.

Hope this helps.

Shorty.

Been using Cimex machines on commercial carpet for over 15 years.

They simply do not die. Most reliable machine we have ever owned.

There are several different products available for use with them from oriental rug shampoos all the way through to peroxide and enzyme boosted encapsulation chemicals.

As mentioned getting the water solution flow takes a little practise. I find that running the solution valve at 50% until the tank is half empty then opening it up full for the rest of the tank to work best. Walking reasonably fast to lay down the product then going over again at half speed. Some products (like peroxide boosted) work better being left in the carpet for longer before the dry pass.

There are a few brush & pad options. I use Tampicos on rugs, nylon light scrub brushes on long pile and nylon pads on commercial loops and those that wont distort too much.

The biggest advantage (apart from speed) I find with this system is that setting the pile afterwards is far less of a task than it is with a rotary machine.

oh.. if buying a used one and its a CR38 check to see if its the low speed version as it will perform better.
