« on: April 02, 2012, 09:10:37 pm »
So i was out today when one of my vac motors on my steempro just cut out and wouldnt start again i thought aww well thats needing a new vac motor. about 10 minuits passed and then it was working again.so i finished the job and ran both vacs with recovery tank lid off to dry them out. Got home and opened it up switched it on . it sparked and tripped my power now the vac wont work and the switch is always illuminated. By the way i always use defoamer. ???

Replace vac motor. Sounds too far gone to replace the brushes IMO.

This is the one you need.

An illuminated switch just means there's power going to the switch.

Vac's have a "life expectancy" the manufacturer's state 500 hours which is about a year if you use your machine on a daily basis.

All the defoamer in the world wont stop time....

The most I have gotten out of a vac is close to 580 hours.

YEAH BUT THE LIGHT IS ON ALL THE TIME. If the parts are still under the 1 year warranty will this cover the vacs??

When i had a Steampro the light in the switch came on when you flicked it on, regardless if the part in question (pump or vac) was working.

Is the machine under one year old? In which case the vac "should" be covered.

If you bought the vac seperate and had it installed in to the machine then its only three months warranty i'm afraid.

Where did you buy the machine?
