You can get saddle tanks, they fit each side over the wheel arches 315ltr in each tank,I think price wise they com in around the £475 inc VAT each,I know of someone who has a ford ranger,it has a 2 man,650 hot system(L5 heater) in the back, not sure if they are the same size though, hope this helps.

Depends on which of the three cab types and three marks of L200 you own.

Weight wise you should be OK upto a 650 tank (payload of around 1050Kg's) but they don't exactly have a huge load space so this will be your deciding factor. I'd treat more like a trailer than a van when planning so mirror the 250 or 400 trailer systems that tend to be typical.

I'm going down the Ford Ranger route and depending on which of the 3 cab style's (double, super or regular cab) you go for you have either 5 feet, nearly 6 feet or 7.5 feet of load space length x 5 feet width and all with upwards of 1,000 kg payload.

I have a 500l tank in my L200 Warrior it fits so snuggly between the two wheel arch's you would seriously think it was made for it! I got another another hole drilled so that I could fit another right angle tap joint so I have two pumps working independentley.
I will always go down this route as I do not want a van, IMO a truck looks better, but thats just my opinion. Plus the fact I had an L200 before I started wc and I could not afford a van!

I went through Gladiator Insurance with no problems at all. All they ask is that the tank is secured and this can be done from the internal tie down points. I would have thought that a pick up installation is much safer as the tank is physically outside and in the event of a crash will have to get through two separate metal bulkheads before it hits the crew.

I'm with you on this. Rather than spend time waterproofing the inside of a van and trying to work out how much payload you have left a pick up makes perfect sense. It's designed to get wet and allow the water in the bed to exit via drain holes. Most carry upward of a tonne and many have four seats. Low ratio Four wheel drive is great for some of my more remote customers that don't actually have driveways and you can see out which is useful when you're going quickly. Best of all with four seats and four wheel drive you're not limited to 50mph on an A road like most of the other commercial vehicles are.

Totally agree about been safer pickup is ideal would'nt have a van . I have a fullbox lid fitted instead of canopy which means i can  leave the pickup locked and alarmed when working . MIKE
