Anyone heard of these or cleaned them?They are from Andalucia in Spain.Client said it wasnt really dear.

Went to see it today and just wondering if there will be problems HWE,its quite a flimsy thing with no real backing as such.

Client said she thought they were made with cotton and wool,I did a burn test and to be honest got nothing from it that gave a presence of wool,in fact the bead seemed hard.

Just wondering if I should give this a miss.

Did you give him a price? Might be worth getting someone else to take it on and have a look at it. From what you're asking after seeing it,  I think it's definitely wise not to tackle it yourself.

Jim,this situation is a little bit ( well a lot really) like Jane
Wilkinsons query regarding her own acrylic rug from a few
Days ago.
I get the impression that if you yourself took the job on you
Would be charging far more than what the rug would be worth,
Even if you came up with a like new from the showroom appearance.
If there`s a white cotton fringe to it,that’s definatley the case
I would say.
Funnily enough,in my own experience it`s the least expensive
Rugs that give you the least problems,giving rise to taking the
Job on,but to charge just a nominal fee.(That’s the tricky part I guess)

What are members thoughts and views on this ?

I have called the woman back and told her I will clean it for her but made it clear that sould any problems arise I will not be held accountable,to which she agrees.

Her words were "It wasnt expensive and a smaller one we had we put in the washer and it was fine" She should have told me that at first

Lewis, I find it's the cheap ones that bite you on the a$$!

By the way Wayne, bear in mind that some Spanish rugs are constructed on a foundation of linen, which means the fringe might brown.  You shouldn't go too heavy on browning correction, so best avoid the problem in the first place and dry the fringes pronto.

This would definitely be an off-site job and I'd be asking for at least £2.50 a foot

Well there ya go Jim,it just goes to show ya
I`ve had some right `barney`s`with rugs,
Especially Indian and Chinese.They all had
Cotton off white fringes. :

Dont remember that on the NCCA course, is it an acid rinse or pr spray.
