So is it 100% risk free if my details fall into the hands of the wrong person?

There is no 100% solution to these wrong person's as we all might have been due to the taxman who looses information of the general public and the banks just chuck confidential statments of there clients into bin liners at there back door for all to pick and use against you.

Its as safe as crossing the road sometime you make the other side without getting hit and sometimes a person is hit, its all just chances, but if you don't try you may miss out on moving forward with your business.

Keep a close eye on your accounts to check money coming in and money going out. As I check mine Accounts every day so if there was something supicious you can deal with it the same day with the bank.

And inaddition all monies goes into the business account, and within the hour it goes in, the money is transfer to another account and is use to pay business expense and some goes into my personnel account for my wages that i take out for myself and some goes into one of my saving accounts.

Keeping money on the move is the best thing in life, as they say comes in one hand and goes out with the other.

Keep earning and be happy with yourself and reap the rewards of life.  ;D ;D ;D

Just once a day.  It's no problem.
Make them quote a unique reference when setting it up.  Not all banks will show the surname of the payer  (I use house number or abbr. of house name + postcode).

get the customer to text you when they ve paid by bank transfer.
why would you do that talk about making things hard for your customer.

simple steps: give customer a reference number and bank details
they pay using them details
you check once a week against reference numbers in online account

easy for customer is the way forward no need to add things like texting you thats you being lazy and giving the customer more grief when paying
If your not willing to learn, No one can help you, If you are determined to learn, No one can stop you ;)

I was worried about giving bank details out, so i opened up another account just for bank transfers.
I find that i dont have to look through alot of transactions to see who has paid, they are the only ones in that account so its easy.
if you regularly transfer that money into your main account very little can go wrong.

Yet nothing is really safe!

Hi James
If you have a smart phone(iphone etc..) tell your customers about PINGIT(barclays only at the moment- but the rest will follow)
Then give your account details to your customer and as soon as they make a mobile payment, it shows up on your account.
Its free for both parties and its a great little addition to the hassle of collection
Means you can check on a daily basis too
easy download from the appstore

Hope that helps a little :)

Hi Paul,if you only have a personal account it might be an idea to have a separate account for the day to day running of your business, but otherwise no( but you will have to maintain accurate records for tax etc ..)
Regarding Pingit -if one of the major Banks has put their weight behind it then yeh,it's gonna take off big time
And let's face it,every body lives their life's on a mobile these days don't they?

Good luck with your business
