I don't have a driveway and load from a static tank. I have a 20 metre hose and sometimes there is no choice but to double park in order to take on water. This morning a had a row with a bus driver who couldn't get by as I was filling.

My quesion is does anyone kmow the rules re : double parking to load / unload?

i think double parking is a nono  cant think of any times you would get away with it.saying that i do it sometimes

I thought that for loading or unloading you could. For practical reasons there is sometimes no alternaive.

one of our shops gets a regular delivery from a large van and he has been warned that he must park 250 m along the road in a loading bay and walk the goods back to shop,

you cannot block a public road unless you get a license to close the road.
only emergancy services can (and at the moment we are not one)
