Hey folks, just priced a school today to remove gum from all the pathways an entrances. Think I've priced too high. Just bought a gum machine so I'm new in this area.  Do any of you have a price plan or how do you work it out. I was pricing by the m2 because I was told how much the machine was capable of doing in a day. The area added upto approx 1256 m2.

Any help or advice on this would be v very much appreciated.

Your better off pricing up by the meter, because its not the best job in the world and no doubt you will be cleaning the area anyway. Dont worry if you over charge, who else is going to do it.
Where I do my chewing gum removal, I have watched the council with their machine.
Its so powerful its making indentations in the flags.

Are you using hot or cold Ryan?

I'm using low pressure steam at 180 degrees. It works well and the gum just disintegrates. What do you use Gary and have you tried gum with a rotary cleaner?

I dont use the rotary cleaner I have a Karcher HDS 801B.
I use a a lance with a pecil jet with a shield with hot water and to be honest is as good as anything I have ever seen.
I have even used the turbo nozzle before today.

Hi Malky, no we use a machine that a guy built for us. It works in the same way as the gumtech only theres no brush on the lance and it doesn't use any chemical. The steam does all the work.

Our washers are cold  water only or we would have tried something like what Gary uses.
