If I had to replace everything I own with brand new, van plus machinery, I'd be writing out a cheque for over £60k I reckon

What people need to realise is that having "a machine" does not make you a carpet cleaner.  You need to have a passion for the work, and if that's the case then go for it hell for leather, get some proper training, invest in the best kit and don't look back.

Sorry to have been so blunt before but if I had a pound for every window cleaner posting on here who wants to buy a carpet cleaning machine and "do carpet cleaning" I wouldn't need to work.. and could afford to pay a window cleaner as well

Justen,most of whats been written has been excellent advice.
A HWE machine on it`s own with even hand tool and assesories
Is`nt enough,nothing like.
Your own premises to be able to take carpets away for cleaning is
A distinct advantage.It opens up a whole new area if needs be.
Nothing though beats practise and experience,a couple of training
Courses is just oaky to get you the `feel`of things.
This forum is possibly the best training ground you could come to.
When I started there was nothing like this,as a window cleaner you
Don`t know how lucky you are,going down the route your going.

With premises,chairs,suites,rugs,the list is nearly endless,cos`with rugs
They really have to be taken to a plant anyway.
There again,ya have problems,cos`a lot of items are `more hassttle than
Enough`.
