so next year im thinking about sorting my business out ive been off the pedal for a while.
ive lost my trust worthy subbie (he went his own way) im cleaning my whole round alone now , im late pretty much on quite a bit but i am catching up, to be honest while i had him i was doing easyer days finishing early and had time off now im working late and starting early bit of a wake up call for me today wanted to go home at 1.30 as its friday glanced at my round and forced my self to stay out till 5pm as im behind..
i feel i could use a bit of advice in this matter
im thinking about really going down the employing ruote a subby is good but as he owns his own van tools etc etc 1 day they could leave and just do there own thing which happened to me im happy for him he never let me down but at the same time now i need to figure out what to do
so im thinking to buy a 2nd van employ a window cleaner and put him on anual wage which ever is the going rate was thinking about £15k paye?+ 6 monthly bonous of some sort.is the 15k too much some have said min wage + bonous anyway this way i will own all the equipment and be offering a reasonable package so the idea is that i have a long term employee who is dedicated
a few questions that spring to mind.
0 hour i would prefer this as it doesnt tie me down to anything right?
what should i be worried about ie workers rights etc etc ?
is the monster jobsite the better place i tryed directgov once wasnt impressed with them
can i sack them if they become bad, hasnt a new law passed where you can does that matter on 0 hours?
should i get someone who doesnt really know the business and train them up myself rather then someone who has done it before or did it himself
as the ones with expirience could end up doing there own thing im after longevity need a loyal person, who will last work hard and also canvass when needed
those of you who have trianed people up how have you found them in the longer run compared to expirienced people?i know you cant keep people forever
but if i get 3 years good work out of someone ill be happy.
finally what i dont want to do is give myself more headache i guess i need to know the reality of what i might be doing going down the employing ruote with paye
and being 100% responsible for another person,? whats it been like for you managing and growing in size i find my self kinda at a cross roads, do i just have a relaxed life .or move forward . i always had this vision to expand and employ but i think the customers totally wore me down (establishing wise) and was quite happy where i was.
sorry if ive gone a bit of track, so so yer if you have thought about have or used to employ on "PAYE" committed to giving him hours not cash in hand or invoicved workers i want to do this properly so would love to hear from you from finding expirienced/non expirienced workers/ drawing up contracts. can you fire them? 0 hours , maybe you did all this rigmarole and after a weeks work they have let you down and you went back to working alnoe?

"sorry its long"
