I'm looking to start a window cleaning business and maybe guttering cleaning. Whats the best way to get new custom. Door knocking or leaflet drops. I have a feeling knocking on doors is best.

the cheapest and fastest way to get work is door knocking.

leafleting will bring results but depends on the leaflet and also is a slower game.  you'll get responses off a leaflet drop up to a year after the drop.

i posted 5000 leaflets over 8 weeks in my business before i got a call...  and they didnt exactly flood in after that.  if you do leafleting month on month for 6 months + you'll start to reap the rewards.

with leaflets you'll get less messers too, as the people who bother to call you REALLY want a WC. they ll be willing to oay more on average because of this. with door knocking you'll get lots who say yes, but don't stick...

leafleting is easier to outsource out to another company tho, as employing canvassers is often very troublesome!  (tho some have found good ones)...

we do both.  if you re starting out on a small budget tho i;d say door knock like crazy for 3 months then review it

before you go out have days in your head when you're available...  which right now is any day!

ideal if you can give them a day immediately, wouldnt give them a time but if pushed say morning or afternoon.  make sure they know you cant do this every time you clean tho.

no real problem to call them after with a due date, but you re just making yourself extra work...  and it can be a pain getting hold of people

If I used to have gaps in my rounds I would fill the van up with water and go out canvassing. You can get yourself a nice little days work done just by asking if you can do it there and then. But its up to you how you do it

Prob get 10 a year from leaflets and get 10 a night canvassing. A no brainer which is better but both methods work. Depends how quick you want the work to come in.

Door knocking has always been more effective for me. I prefer making myself seen and known by prospective customers beats dropping leaflets. Both methods work, it's just that I prefer the former.

i agree door knocking is the best and quickest way of getting new customers, however i do like flyers, i put flyers out then if i pick any up from them i then go and knock that area, sometimes you find a area with no window cleaner!! very rare tho

It doesnt even have to be your own leaflet lol dont be put off if someone else leafleted the area

leafleting will pick you up about 1-5 houses in 1000 you speak to 1000 people and yall be cleaning a lot of new houses
