get some glove liners and rubber type gloves(i use showa 377 ones).problem solved.protects hands from all the muck off the hose as well.much more hygienic!!my hands dont crack or dry out like they used to either.

summer the old surgical gloves - just dont catch them in the clamp when retracting the pole  :
