Advice needed from people who own an RO unit
« on: February 20, 2012, 06:54:20 pm »
Ok so I have all my equipment to start wfp except for an RO unit, the one I actually wanted was the last one of their stock and they tested it before it was due to be sent out and they have found a fault with the unit. The chap on the phone has said that the auto flush valve doesnt work and that I would have to flush it manually every 2 or 3 days and because of this I can have it for a third of the price, in fact they haven't taken any money from me hes letting me set it up and if im happy with it I can pay in a few weeks.

I haven't actually used an RO before so this seems to be a bit confusing to me, is this an easy job or a PITA? He said I would just have to turn a screw to open a valve and leave it open for a few minutes, sounds easy?

Im not going to name the company but its one that gets mentioned on here so its a reputable company if your wandering.

Bargin; buy it.  I didn't know you could get auto flush ROs; mine is manual, and once a week or so I flush the thing for an hour.  It just means you turn a nozzle and you see your waste pipe increase in volume output.

It's really dead simple; even Squeaky can do it.

Buy it.

Sounds like a real bargain.

I also didn't know there was such a thing as 'auto flush'.
Just chant..... Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. It's beats chanting Tory Tory or Labour Labour.

Personally I wouldn't bother, if it's faulty don't go there, ro can expensive, buy a working one new,

Seems a bargain to! Like I said I haven't started with wfp yet, got a clx 27 and wcw backpack lastweek, also just bought a di with resin in so im itching to go.... Even if I just have this for £100 it will get me started and as I don't have many customers at the moment so don't need a fancy set up. Its a 400gallon a day unit with twin booster pumps; RRP £300.

Maybe I will have to have him explain about this manual flush thing when its set up in front of me but im sure thats what he said that I would have to turn a screw which opens a valve and do that every couple of days.

me too. mine is manual, if I'm understanding you right, I'd go for it if that's all that's wrong with it.

I take it its a vyair, my old one had the faulty flush valve.
All it meant was there was too much waste out put, but as it was auto you couldn't stop it.
My new one has an auto flush and works perfectly with no problems.
You will be fine, with a bargain RO as well.

How much waste : pure was it excessive? Reason I'm asking is because I'm on a water meter  :(
