Advertising - what's best??
« on: February 04, 2012, 06:30:24 pm »
I've never really advertised and havent got a sign written van - is it worth it?? Do you guys get many calls off the van ?
I have got an ad in Thomson local and yell.com (both free) but never had a single call from them
Thought about my local village link mag as well - its about £35 for a small ad
Any thoughts would be appreciated

I would defo recommend this mate without a doubt.

think about it this way, every house to you to and you could place a billboard in the round, and do this on every raod you visisted in time do you think it would get you calls ?

my first van paid for the sign writting as I drove home. fair enough thats not going to happen with everyone but it hooked me straight away.

I think this also has an impact on insurance premium with a lower quote

Thomson, Yell etc are ok to help you up google, but get an SEO company or someone who knows, to do a search dot how many times "window cleaner *your area*" gets searched.

In my experience, advertising is a waste of time and money, and hope.

Ranking high on google will see your enquiries increase, but what you tend to get is shoppers who want 3 or 4 quotes.

Do a good job, and you will get referrals.

if you use a  van and its blank, you will not get any work from it because nobody knows what you do, have it sign written and at least people will know what you do.

if nobody knows you do what you do, how do you expect people to phone you.

you don't need anything fancy and expensive, a simple sign saying window cleaner work wanted, with you phone number should work.
