wfp first cleans advice please
« on: January 30, 2012, 07:50:10 pm »
Hi all, ive been trad for 9 years and recently using wagtails on a pole, ive found this o.k but now wanting to start with wfp in the spring. I am considering wcw backpacs to start with. my customers are fine with me using my current poles so they hopefully will be ok with waterfed. what is bothering me though is how many cleans will it take to get the windows to a good standard can i achieve an acceptable standard on the first clean? and if so, how?

forget the backpack and get a van mount straight away or else youll have to fill it 3 times just to clean one house on a first clean!!itll take you 3 times longer than trad and youll want to go back trad after a week!!!
price higher/work harder!

I can imagine this is true.  And i think Daz would know, with his history with containers!!

If give it another of a scrubbing and plenty of water most will come good on the first clean.  I prepared customers for it to take up to 3 cleans, but most were good on the first, with just the odd window occasionally needing a second visit.

if you have another trad clean before switching, give the top frame and seal a wipe with the cloth.

Let me give you a few tips for first cleans  which even the van mounts will find if difficult to  do . Because of the large tanks. Get some I P A from Jenny chem at 12pound a 5 litre and add 2 table spoons to each back pak full of water and clean the glass with this mixture it will deliver great result even on greasy sand glass easily.Or get some Ecover dish washing liquid and put water in a bucket with a few squirts of Ecover and dip the brush in to the mixture and clean the glass. Then clean with the water flowing. You will find Ecover bio degrades well and will no leave spots us only one of these methods your customers will be impressed.
