scudo payload !!
« on: January 29, 2012, 01:47:58 pm »
Ive got a 09 scudo which the payload is 1200 Im not to sure as Ive got a 450 tank couple sets of ladders onto me & my son & say full tank of diesel Im sure that dont pass the payload ho im about 11 stone son is about 12 stone anyway the reason im asking this is that my back tyres keep going out of shape as this is the second lot within a year as they lose the rounded shape and start making a loud nosie like the bearings have gone so Im thinking that the van cant hold the weight it says anyone else find this mmmmmmmmm :-\

Nothing to worry about weight wise.

Your rear tyres need to be properly inflated, should say in your manual.

50psi might sound high but it does change if fully loaded, mate runs a transit and his rears at 67psi...

What tyres are you using? Need to be for a commercial vehicle. Michelins are good.

I would check the manual though, my Berlingo with 800 KG payload needs them at 54PSI. Probably different tyre and rim size but it's worth looking at. Did it happen with two different brand tyres? Van tyres are different to car tyres.

Yes I got commercial tyres on the van as it was brand new when got it so the tyres were standard commercial also had the 2 back ones changed also commercial ... AS  for tyre pressure I did put an extra 10 pound in them but still the tyres went out of shape as you can feel them when you run your hands round them !!!!! strange !!!!! cant wait to rid of it to be honest not the most comfortable ride the seats give me backache if driving on long journeys !!! Did have a traffic before this was a good van but anyone got the transporter and what are they like !!!
