got 60 metres square of the flat type car showroom type cladding to clean its not particularly minging but has run marks where joints in metal guttering over flow

Whats your gut feel for the job? Maybe think on just a time taken basis rather than square meterage for you and one of your team to do.
If its a pole job,should be a piece of cake-not more than a couple of hours
Factor in the doing it out of hours  and you should get a final figure
Plus ,do you do the windows on site already?It might be worth coming in at a lower level to secure a good on-going contract( a lot of these places are owned and operated by multi site franchises etc..)You just got to ask the right questions of the boss man on site
Also,from your recent posts on other topics,sounds like things are looking up for you.You got a good website,the vans look great and your staffing issues seem to be sorting themselves out on their own accord.Chin up mate and with some hard graft,seems like your on the up

no hes had same window cleaner for 25 years apparently, im usually ok with pricing just the awkward guy has made comment about price wanting it cheap i dont wana overprice the job as i usually price pretty high

Sounds like this other guy has got it in the bag already-be professional and present your self in a proper manner and dont sell yourself or your company short

i dont think the other guy offers this sort of service to be honest, i called in the other day and enquiring about window cleaning, siad they had one but i mentioned gutter clearing etc and they called me back in as they have an inspection due in feb

If they are serious,they will bite your hand off come february and inspection time.Plus, do you actually know if the other guy cant do it?
If nothing else,you'll show him up if he is not providing the service they are after
Time to move on and concentrate on other new work,deal with this one by putting in a price and forget about it.If they contact you,worry about how your gonna do it then

If its for an inspection then dont low ball it mate they spend ALOT at inspection time (assuming its a large chain or own brand car dealers)

and with short notice they probably wont bother with shopping around
