Remove ply-lining for WFP?

I've recently bought a van which had shelves in the back and the previous owner removed them prior to sale.

This has left the ply-lining generally loose and rattling.

I'm getting a WFP, gutter system & pressure washer etc - Should the plywood be removed or should some of it be left in place?

I would leave the lining just put more screws to tighten it up you would need to take out the floor section to paint with a speed liner for the rust.You can put it back but paint it then on both sides with a euro-thane paint.You could also add insulation under all the boards for the winter.

agree with whizzy above....... I haven't got round to it but fancy fully ply lining roof and all and backing it out with insulation.

Definitely useful to leave in, if you are putting a boiler in to provide hot water then you will need something to attach it to. Also handy for other bits and pieces.

Good advice about removing it, adding insulation and then refitting it. 

Would the urethane paint be to improve the appearance?

that's what i've done, used the recycled plastic stuff behind all my panels rather than rock wool to stop it rotting and used 50mm foil insulation board under/around/on top of my tank.

I just need to get around to filling both sliding doors and the sticking the insulation board to the roof but so far the cold hasn't penetrated...

I used to build motor homes and insulated and trimmed my 1st van haven't got round to this new one and all frozen.. Gutted

Thanks - what is the recycled insulation you used on the panels?
