Hi all,
Thanks for your comments,
I also clean the carpet customers ask to be dry first.
I couldn't understand the theory of cleaning the entrance hall first because it would be the dirtiest room in the house. I have cleaned many houses where the entrance hall is the dirtiest carpet but done it last on the way out and haven't had any problems.
I understand re-soiling or wicking can happen but I haven't witnessed it as yet. I don't like the idea of cleaning a carpet that then has to be walked over to clean other rooms!
Perhaps this is a method still preached from when under-powered machines were available that wouldn't remove stubborn dirt with one attempt!
P.S. I have always left my machine outside ever since I left it in ther entrance hall because the hoses wouldn't reach. The waste tank over-filled and it sprayed filthy water all over the customers freshy painted magnolia wall and cream carpet! I did manage to clean up the damage but it was a close call and hours wasted when I could have been else where!!! I've since bought extra hoses and always leave it outside.
Thanks again for your comments and please continue to do so.
Kind regards,
Jason.
