Good morning and Happy New Year!

First job of the year, got the pole up at 45 foot and water is ping down the outside of the pole?

Any idea why?

Morning,

Could be many reasons that this is happening - the most likely is for some reason the Y connector at the top of the pole has either come loose or the hose around it has sprung a leak.  If this is the case, the Y connector needs to be pushed back on firmly or the leaking section of hose cut off and re-fitted.

Good morning,

I have looked at the hose and there is no splits, no leaks on or around the Y piece either. When the pole is extended fully it looks like the water is running off the bottom edge of the brush, then down the gooseneck which then runs down the pole.

This can sometimes happen if the pole is used at steeper angles (perhaps working closer to the building) than normal with certain brush/gooseneck combinations. If I have to carry out work in steeper conditions what I do to prevent this is to take a Velcro wrap and wrap it around the gooseneck shaft. This weighs virtually nothing and creates a drip point that allows any excess water to drip off without coming down the pole.

if you stand and to tight an angle the water will over spill from the topof the brush down the pole and up your arms and you get cold ;) ;) ;) ;)

I use an old 18'clx for cleaning gutters and fascias and had the same problem. It was easily cured by wrapping an elastic band around the top of the pole (just under the angle adapter)

Another thing to look at...is your water flow to low? ie is the jet not'firing' the water out far enough and is it just dribbling out of the jets?
There maybe some grit stuck in the jets/y piece/tubes connecting the y to th jets? This will restrict the flow too.

Are you using the quick release fittings? sometimes the hose pulls out the JG fitting slightly creating a waterfall!

use a rubber band just after the goose neck it is lighter than a velcro strap, Alex i'm shocked at you, thats extra weight right there  ::) Happy New Year to you  ;D

point all the clamps so they are facing down to the floor and not sidewards or up. This will take the water off and off a 45 supermax you wont get any water on you by the time its got to the lowest clamp
Only those who risk going too far will truly know how far they can actually go
