hi all if the varistream green light is flashing does this mean the leisure battery is on the way out then i could not get a green light on the varistream at all any replys would be greatly appriated thanks.

Do you have the digital version, it should flash B if its flat.
When the varistream is off and you press the arrow button it will show you how charged the battery is.

no sorry but i do not have the digital one i have the one with the control nob if you get what i mean.

sounds dead to me, how old is it? they don't last long. Better to buy an ordinary car battery than a leisure battery.

would have thought this is wrong, I've been told (by the geezers down the pub!) that leisure batteries hold their charge far better than car batteries, which are designed for short term, high power output.

either way, I would have thought. battery is flat. esp if your using a car battery!  Unless you've tried charging it and the same happens, in which case your screwed! or rather the battery is!

My experience with leisure batteries has been pretty poor. None of them lasted very long, A couple only lasted a few weeks and they weren't cheap. Then one time I bought an ordinary car battery. I only intended it as a stop gap because another leisure battery had failed and I couldn't work until I got a replacement. The car battery lasted so much longer so I have never used anything else since. The one I just replaced lasted about a year and cost £36. Absolutely no contest

must have been a duff one surely? I have 2 110 amp leisure batteries, took the one off caravan, had it for about 4 years and still keeps 2 pumps going for 3 weeks of 2/3 days per week between charges

have to admit I was going to get beefy car battery to run pumps until I looked into it. should have took it back and got money back mate (if u didn't). I'd be peed off if batteries only lasted that long!

yes a flashing green light is usually a sign that there is a batt problem you also get pulsing with the water flow ( this should happen well before the batt dies ).

if you are van mounted and have a split relay does at all run ok with the engine running ?
if not check the fuse.
if yes the batt is not holding the charge.

leisure batts seem very hit and miss - my old diy system had 2 110 batts that were thrown out as dead ( both around 5 years old )- but they served me well for over 2 years.
my new system came with a batt a couple of years old and it was knackered.

i know several people that just use new or second hand car batts with no problems

i know car batterys have a 2,3,or 4 yr guarantee depending on the quality . i used to be a mechanic and it was the norm to get a new one for free if it failed. the test of failure is the load test,done a few hours after the last time it was charged. you dont load  test them straight after charging cos they are gassing and can explode when you test them at that time

I agree I bought a car battery for a tenner a year a go still going strong!

I been saying it for ages leisure batterys are crap get down the local scrap yard

My omnipole trolley battery lasted 10 months !  They wouldnt offer a replacement either  :
