I did a hnd in business and finance, dont think its that relevant to a one man band.  I feel my retail management experience benefits my business more. Customer service is key in this game. Making the customer feel special is a skill, handling customer complaints and difficult customers benefits my business.

very good points. as is dan worgans post.

Richy....maybe i am not looking at the cleaning world from the same perspective as you,but the other day i was fighting your corner when you was talking about setting up a trad round for domestics.
Now maybe i am missing the point but do you HONESTLY believe that a degree in anything will benefit your ability to run a trad domestic round...maybe since then you have gone off on another tangent.....mate you need to really (imo) sit back take a breath and really think hard about what you want out of your business.
I used to be a lloyds underwriter many moons ago,i studied and passed the ACII exams that allowed me to move on in the insurance industry.
If you feel that a degree will allow you to move on in the cleaning world then go for it,but i have the feeling that after ten minutes of studying you will have already put plans into action for your business to move into another direction.
This is not a knock at you type of post,i can actually see my own past in some of the things that you seem to be doing, but my past has been wasted business wise because i didn't concentrate and set goals, dont make the same mistake mate, stick to a purpose and build on that.

wow i was just asking a question n seeing what peoples thought were and seeing what experience people on here had n if its benefitted there business.

my goal isnt to be a one man band n i see window cleaning as a step to something bigger and better, for those who are one man bands i also feel it wouldnt benefits but for companies with 5-10 employees you might find a business degree beneficial.

everyones needs to realise all my ideas etc on here i dont follow thru i sound them out with other window cleaners n too see what they advise etc coz sometimes u do get decent advice along with the konbs!!

I'm halfway through a two year Foundation of Buddhist Thought course; it's pretty tough going and I should donate about 15 to 20 hours a week on it (including meditation time) and if I complete it I get a certificate showing I have, and if I pass it with honours, I become Enlightened or something.

Although not specific to window cleaning, it is helping.

I can help.  Dan, you're not inherently a knob on your own side.  You can't point to anywhere and say, "This is my 'knob-ness'" (and that includes your genital area, which is, in your case, probably illusory anyway).

You're just an aggregate of form and mental formations that when come together by causes and conditions, we impute 'knob' onto them.

This is however called a valid imputation, since the aggregates they're based upon, i.e. YOU, is the correct basis for the conceptual construct known as 'knobishness'.

Hope that helped.

Hi all
well i'm actually a part qualified accountant. I studied for 5 years got AAT (association of accounting technicians) qualified part way through CIMA (chartered Institute of Management accountants).
Got bored and fed up of 65 -75 hour weeks and my 2 year old daughter at the time calling me tom not Dad because I was never at home when she was awake.
So thought Id try something else ???. Big pay cut but worth every penny.
Still i dont need to pay to get my books done  ;D

CIMA is a top qualification and big bucks if you get that qualification.  Don't waste what you've done already, you may regret it in ten years.

Think carefully.

I have a B. Comm degrees from the University of Stellenbosh and a C R S in property  in the U S A

I'm half way through doing a degree in Maths. I've done a year of the three year course, with only another four years to go.

Can I ask why?  Do you just do it for fun?
