Thinking of getting a new brush to try, got my eye on the black extreme although I am a hot water user . So far i have used the following brushes......SL DT Mono
                   SL DT Flocked standard splay
                  SL White Extreme brush
                   SL White DT cill brush

I would say my favorite is the SL DT Flocked standard splay, however I miss the lightness of the extreme brush hence why I am thinking of the black extreme to go on my extreme pole. Can any of you point me in the right direction on what should be my next brush to try ??

Don't buy the black extreme - it doesn't suit hot water at all.
It's my favourite brush but hot water makes it curl and splay.

Save your money. You've got the best of the range anyway. Maybe try a wide extreme white?
Buy a swivel resi-neck.

IMO they are all light brushes . I think the most important criteria is which brush you think gives the best cleaning results. This is likely to also be the brush that enables you to work the quickest.

I think the sl dt flocked standard is a decent brush.
Sl dt mono a poor scrubber.
Haven't tried an extreme because with fewer bristles I really do not see how they can clean so well.
Currently using the soft (black) dt sill brush (which is Alex's favourite) and impression so far is it is OK.

Tried Areial Brushes from TecBuk? Lightweight, a variety of styles a swivel adapter too. I love mine! May be more expensive but I think they are worth it!

those brushes have too few monofilaments to clean faster than the Aerial brushes
you would have to go over the window more times to be certain to get the same results as the Aerial brush

time is money in this game and that adds up to a lot more brush strokes

Logic would dictate that Alex is right. More bristles on the glass should mean faster and more effective scrubbing. If the extreme scrubbed better than the standard sl range surely Gardiners would stop selling the sl brushes in favour of the extreme.

IMO people overemphasize the lightness of the brush in judging it's quality. For me the most important characteristic is scrubbing ability.

I bought a mark II and III Gardiner's sl mono because people raved about them so much on here but found they did not do a good job and believe I lost 1 or 2 customers as a result. The sl dt flocked is a decent brush though.

So does using cold water. Mine curled after just a few months!!

And the white(extreme) brush is not the best choice on  some leaded from the  horses mouth.But it does do a good job everywhere else, i think.Hot water is due to go on soon does anyone know if it will mess the bristles up?

Gardiners have a huge range of brushes to suit the weight weenies down to the scrubber fanciers. Flocked, mono, single trim, dual trim. soft, stiff, medium wide splay, zero splay - they've got everything covered. Fan jets, pencil jets wide brushes and of course the new swivel at a bargain price.
Ariel have some catching up to do and some price alterations before I buy from them.

I agree it would cost a bit to buy every brush and try them all out. Usually softer brushes scrub the glass surface better than stiffer brushes. Drop me an email on alex@agardiner.co.uk and I can advise further as to which of our range would suit your needs best.

What you don't realise though Alex. is that in the "real world" a window has more often than not got to be scrubbed a certain amount of times anyway. It would be great if every window was almost clean to begin with, no bird poo, spiders nests, cobwebs, fly poo etc etc etc. Your "one pass" fantasy doesn't cut it with reality. When a window is in the "ideal" state, an Xtreme brush will also clean in one pass.

The Xtreme brush is truly superb! The best I have ever used in fact (the white one) & I've used some brushes in the last almost 8 years of wfp! Yes. less bristles & less bristles hold less crap!

The Aeriel looks more like a bog brush to me, might be OK for washing vehicles or cladding etc but nothing new or revolutionary by a long shot!
