Hi all,
I had a lady called who is moving into a property and wants the carpets cleaned before she moves in.
She has an old German Shepherd dog who is quite ill with a few things, one of them being he has very sensitive paws.

She was wondering if the cleaning will cause him a problem after it had been cleaned. I said I had never heard of it, and wouldnt have thought anything would happen. It is quite possible that there would be a few days after the cleaning before she moved in, so I am wondering if any other cleaner had heard of cats or dogs with paw problems due to the pre spray and cleaning?
I would use something like Pre spray Gold.

I would consider using a micro-splitter and rinsing with water only. You aren't leaving any chemicals then....

This should attract some sarcasm.

I used to do a local greasy pub carpet twice a year.

Polo, the landlord's westie used to delight in waiting until I'd sprayed (Hydramaster's high PH + enzyme) the carpet; then rush in, walk all over it and lick his paws! Little bugger.

He passed away recently aged fifteen, which ain't a bad age.

Trouble is if the dog decides to have a flair up you will get the blame no matter what you use, but I go with MS and a plain water rinse and no smelly stuff.
