Wondering what's the best way now to get paid, I get cheques n cash and some bacs! But was wondering what's the best way you guys get paid, I just hate the collecting thing!

the time taken to collect, gives a chance to take a few minutes to build a rapport with the customer...this can often be the difference between keep a job, and losing it

If we don't get paid by the customer at the time of us doing the job then for the most part we will leave a stamped envelope for the person to send a cheque.  We get the odd few though who don't seem to like to do this even though we are providing them with a stamped envelope.  Just lazy I guess.  There are also a few that take ages to send them but we just don't clean their windows again until we receive it in those rare instances. 

It probably would be worth us looking into some sort of online payment system though because we seem to get charged a lot by the bank for paying in cheques.  I'm not good with computers though so don't really understand how it all works.

as the recession hits harder some of my female customers are now paying me in kindness which means my day gets longer and longer,  didn't get finished till midnight on some days last week 

if you want to avoid collecting then call or text your customers the night before and let them know your coming so they can leave payment somewere safe for you

Ok guys and chaps......... how do I get paid?

By any method where upon the money ends up either in my pocket or in my bank account.

With regards bank charges, I was with Lloyds whose charges seemed to be always increasing although each month I roughly paid in the same number of cheques.

I now use the Cooperative Bank. They have never questioned how many cheques I pay in and added to which, I can pay money/cheques in at any post office.
