I have just started cleaning UPVC type shop signs with one of those extending lances with a brush on it,  connected to my powerwasher anybody know whats a good detergent to use for these, at the mo I have been using TFR.

That's about as good as you can get but as you know it can be quite irritating to the skin/eyes etc. so barriers and signs are a must to protect the public.

I have also used Mr Fenwicks caravan cleaner in the past. It can be a bit pricey but you only need the tiniest amount. It's specifically designed for removing traffic film and algae etc. from white caravans and works wonderfully well on perspex signs!

I do the signs very early mornings so theres no danger to anybody.

what sort of kit do you use Malky?
Do you rinse it down afterwards?

Low pressure Karcher on to wagon brush,Autosmart TFR quick couple of rubs rinse off with fresh water and quick wipe dry  if need be to prevent streaking

Its sort of on and off, buts its really dirty work, theres a lot of paperwork and a lot of rules and regs.
But its good work when you get it.

I feel its good to cover a wide spectrum.
To be honest theres nothing I wont do, as it all puts food on the table.
But lots of my work is seasonal, so I try not to have any quiet periods.
I have even just took on an existing window cleaning round this week.
It should be fun.
I thrive on hard work and if I can work 12 to 14 hours a day, I'm a happy chappy as theres so much I yet need to do achieve to establish my business.

like you I will try most things, started of Valeting cars went on to pressure washing bought a flat surface cleaner now added paths and drives, found the main power washer I had was to powerfull for vehicles (enter Graffiti and chewing gum) +I am still learning all the time, valeting still brings in most monies for me as I won 3 blue chip contracts earlier last month, so now I can say I am in proffit for the first time in months so like one of your previous posts I nearly packed it in on several occassions but I am still here, only down side is I work a one man operation and can like yourself clock up 12 to 14 hours a day still I will be rich one day and at least all my equipment is bought and payed for all the best keep on blasting

I was once a full time window cleaner, working six days per week. I built up a massive round that took two of us two weeks to do.
It was great money and I used to really enjoy it, but I sold up to move on to other things.
So I think it will be fun to become a vision technician part time again. I have still got all the kit in the the shed.
All my profit goes on buying new equipment, basicaly to build up my business.
I'm not in it to get rich, I'm just loving the challenge.
Because people told me it was the wrong business to get into and it would fold in six months.
Its still going.

Have a go at the window cleaning its good fun.
I have guys working for me on building work so if I ever need labourers Ive got them.
