Double pointer ladder thingys
« on: October 20, 2011, 02:11:46 pm »
I've never used one of these ladders (pictured here: http://www.mraccessandladders.co.uk/pics/titanaliwindow.jpg). Presumably the pointer detaches for use with the ground floor windows? Are they recommended? Getting a bit fed up carting one round separately...

I fell off of one years ago, and nearly killed the guy working under me (The ladder hit his shoulder almost breaking it, just missing his head). I was ok though :D

but they are good for certain jobs, I prefer straight ladders.

I've been using pointed ladders for about 10 years and I'd never ever ever go back to a normal ladder when trading windows.

They're much, much more stable, can be put to the left or right of the window or on the upright spars. Also, they're much easier to use on ground that is not level and the rubber end grips much better than aliminum or the hard plastic ends of a normal ladder. On top of that, the base of an A frame is much wider.
