Valve for hotwash

Just wondered whether to put water permanently through my fogwash, or have any of you put a shut off valve to divert water away from your heater when its not needed?

Any descriptions and products used would be appreciated.

It's quite simple, before the heater (after pump, DI) insert a 13mm y piece, after the y piece two valves. One end of hose goes to the heater, back out of the heater and back into a y piece. The other hose from the first y piece joins up to this. Close one valve, open the other and you have hot and vice versa for cold. A picture says a thousand words, but I don't have one handy.

(12mm y piece is fine)

Get some proper hoseclips (not the ones that you can't tighten up properly) and use that on the connections.

i don't divert around the hotwash i just take batteries out to stop it clicking when water starts flowing.

Because it will keep firing the ignitor when it senses the water flow.

thats why i open the battery lid and it dont click, also have the gas off when not using, have to admit i`ve used hot every day since i brought it, i find i work quicker and the cost of the gas dosen`t upset the profit due to extra speed

Roughly how much is your gas costing you then? On average, I do around 15-20 cleans a day-is that similar to yourself?
