Any suggestions?
« on: October 16, 2011, 11:57:52 am »
Probably a long shot but.......................Had a call from a lady asking if I could get old dog wee stains out of her carpet,as I haven't had a great deal of success in the past with these I popped round to her place.

Its a luxury apt complex with cream carpets all through.Didnt do a burn test as I forgot my gear but got a fibre and it floated in water so Im pretty sure its PP.There are dozens of urine spots all through the aptment some of which shes had a go with herself with the Vanish and 1001.(she said the VET told her it gets urine out ;D)

I followed the Prochem stain advice and soaked a couple of stains, one that had been treated with Vanish and one that hadnt, in FF rinse and hot water mixed 50/50,left for 10 minutes.Extracted and neither would budge.

I had a tearful lady fearing that she will lose her £3000 deposit when she moves next month,so said I would ask for any other advice on here.It amazes me that people will leave dog urine in carpets for weeks/months and not do anything immediately so it serves her right I suppose.

Anyone got any other suggestions please.

Thanks Wayne

I did a rug a few days ago with several dog urine stains that  had been there a year we tried the prochem route ..tea and coffee stain remover and mpower but just couldnt shift it and only managed to lighten the stains i think apart from bleaching eg sod mets and peroxide in which i wouldnt reccomend if never used before then i think they are gonna be permenant but in saying that there are people alot more knowledable then me on here so maybe someone has a trick up there sleeve in removing them. .. also your probably right in it serving her right cos if i thought id lose three grand i wouldnt let the dog nowhere near the carpets  ;D

I have a customer who rents a town house he has two huge great danes that p.ss buckets all over this cream polyprop i remember the first time i quoted for it thinking they wont come out, the carpet came up like new used poweburst then either pureclean or acid rinse. i have negotiated a monthly clean of the lounge diner and have now cleaned it over ten times always fantastic results, i dread to think what the backing must be like but if he wants it cleaned and it comes up looking nice he is happy and so am i.
Of course if it was wool it would be a different story but these stains can be removed if the fibre allows
