Hi,

We managed to get a patch of candle wax about 6" square spilt on our new living room carpet. Its now rock hard and cold.

I believe we can try brown newspaper and an iron to draw it out? Would this work?

I would rather ask the pros first before i try anything!

I sometimes use an iron and brown paper, just make sure it's not too hot.

Get one of the guys on here to do it for you, easy to get it wrong. Put your post code or area in the thread title. If all of it can't be removed the charge will come off your excess if you need to claim on insurance.

I remove it gently and slowly with steam, again not recommended if you are not sure what you are doing, If it's a man made heat set twist pile it's very easy to damage as is wool. Solvex for small marks.

i use a steamer and kitchen roll to get wax out your basically just remelting the wax then soaking it up, you mite find though that once wax is removed the carpet has been burnt from the heat of the wax.
