Possible solution for Slx Clx Clamps

One of the problems with epoxy glue its not very shock resistant. When closing your gardener pole and allowing it to slam against the lower clamp would create a problem which no glue will solve.
What a propose is to take the pole apart and twist an elastic in a figure of 8 fashion around each pole and move it to just below the clamp to work as a buffer for the clamp below. Some guys already use tape but this will add to the poles length when working a ground level.
What would be the answer is for Alex to Place a rubber O seal ring at the bottom of each clamp to protect these clamps. If they were 2 /3 mm thick rubber it would cushion very well. One could add more than one if you were a little ruff with your pole.

My tape mod only adds about 5cm to my clx18 when closed
I reckon the rubber o-ring your suggesting would just make the clamp last a little longer as the pressure would still go through the o-ring to the next clamp.

I've a better idea- don't smash your clamps together full stop!
