ok new van needed shortly what is the best around?
« on: September 15, 2011, 10:05:49 pm »

so what is the van of choice for all the WC on here then, my last van was a good one was a 2009 Transporter splashed out there had it for 2 years only for it to be write off and having to take a very undervalued payout for it so ill not be spending as big again!!!

from experience transits good working vans just a bit slow and can be thirsty on juice unless some relatively new model is different? had a Hi Ace and they will go all day but far to hard on juice, vivaros/traffics etc ive heard to many bad tales bout them so dont think will consider them, please no one mention a fiat van of any kind! what does leave me with anyone recommend a good alrounder van?

cheers

I have a transit,I think it will be the 85bhp version that you consider to be slow,I have the 115bhp and it is more than sufficient,be carefull on payloads tho if you have a 650l tank or bigger you would be looking at the 280 model not the 260.

What size tank are you carrying ?

Any extras like ladders, guttervac, 2 man set up or even a fat passenger ;D ?
Only those who risk going too far will truly know how far they can actually go

It's the 280 I have and the payload is around 1050kg,would imagine the 300 would be around 1200kg??

Funny isn't it? My Doblo has been great - nearly five years from new - but "they" still prefer a Renault with a "made of cheese" gearbox - ducato/boxer is fine.
It's a game of three halves!
