A customer of mine once offered me £70 a day, plus company van, plus commission (if I made any sales there and then) to go travelling the UK selling large industrial floor cleaning machines.

He looked really shocked when I turned him down.

Hahaha just goes to show dont it, these people really dont have a clue do they?

I had a customer approach me a few years back, £30 job right. He asked me how many jobs can i complete in a day, my response was 'it depends on the round but between 6 and 8 jobs per day' (i was actually doing around 12 a day ) He said blimey so you must be dong at least £180 per day then, thats not bad is it. dont you think you might be charging a bit too much. I said 'no not really, considering every job is invoiced, and recorded, tax is paid on that and fuel...no not at all'.

Anyway, a few months later he appraches me after seeing the bill for the window cleaning again with a massive grin from ear to ear. 'You are doing far more than 8 jobs a day arnt you?' Sheepishly I said, errrrrr well. He laughed it off, he had seen the inovice number and compaired it with the last and made a loose calculation on how many jobs i was really getting through per day. I asked him what he did for work, and yep you guessed it he was an accountant.

Still got him to this day, and he always says jokingly to me,' out to make a packet then today are you marc? (as he willingly hands over his now £35)
